Treatment Plant Operator I

The Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Wells Water District is seeking a full­time experienced and goal-oriented professional to fill the position of Treatment Plant Operator I at its Water Filtration Facility located at 135 York Street in Kennebunk, Maine.  We are looking for a team-oriented person who will participate with co-workers using well established water treatment principles and procedures to ensure that an abundant supply of high-quality drinking water is available for District customers and the general public.  The successful candidate must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with State and local officials, employees, customers, vendors and members of the public.  Prior water or wastewater treatment experience is preferred.

This second shift position is hourly with occasional overtime and on-call requirements and reports to the Assistant Plant Manager.  The pay range is $27.55 to $33.65 per hour commensurate with experience and includes a $1.46 per hour pay differential for second shift.  The District also offers a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement, paid time off, dental, vision, life insurance and other benefits.

The District is a quasi-municipal corporation that was created by an act of the Maine Legislature in 1921 and is governed by an elected four-member Board of Trustees. The District provides service to over 14,500 metered customers throughout 7 vibrant coastal communities, including the Towns of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Wells, Ogunquit and Arundel as well as the northern York area and the Granite Point and Biddeford Pool areas of the City of Biddeford. System highlights include a 5MGD surface water treatment facility, 4 groundwater well sites, 208 miles of T&D mains, 8 water storage tanks and 19 booster stations. Fixed based AMI is utilized for all metered accounts.
