About KKW

KK&W Water District

The KK&W Water District is a quasi-municipal water utility that was established in 1921 by an act of the Maine State Legislature. Our service area, the second longest in Maine, extends 25 miles along the York County coastline and includes the Towns of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Wells, Ogunquit, Arundel and portions of Biddeford and York. Within these communities, we provide quality water service to a population that varies seasonally from about 28,000 to over 75,000.

Our 40 employees are dedicated to our mission, which is to provide the highest quality of water and customer service at the lowest reasonable cost. They are a highly motivated and skilled group of professionals who believe in customer service, teamwork and technology.

The Water District is directed by a four-member Board of Trustees, each elected from the towns of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Wells and Ogunquit. The Trustees typically meet at 2:00 pm at the District office on the fourth Wednesday of the month during January to October and the third Wednesday during November and December. These monthly meetings are open to the public.
