| Regional Water Coalition Update

As recently reported in the District's newsletter What's on Tap, the coalition has made significant progress toward the formation of the Southern Maine Regional Water Council. In late June the enabling legislation, which allows for the formation of Water Councils, was signed into law by Governor Baldacci. At this time the coalition is putting the finishing touches on its proposed by-laws. Over the next couple months each of the seven tentative members will evaluate the by-laws and determine whether or not to join the Council.
