| Regional Water Coalition Update
March 25, 2005
As we previously outlined in Regional Water Supply ,
a group of southern Maine utilities has proposed enabling
legislation for any two or more water utilities in the State
of Maine to form a Regional Water Council. The proposed bill,
LD1162 is scheduled to be heard in front of the legislature's
Utilities and Energy Committee on Tuesday, April 5th at 1:00
pm in room 211 of the State Office Building in Augusta .
Both the Maine Sunday Telegram and the Portland Press
Herald have recently covered this story. If you have any
questions or opinions on this significant piece of legislation,
feel free to contact us or your local legislator.
